Monthly Meeting Schedule and Location

 

The Austin Astronomical Society’s monthly meetings are free and open to the public. The meetings are held on the second Friday of each month beginning at 7:30pm.  Meetings are held on the UT Campus, unless otherwise noted, ETC Room 2.136 in the Engineering Teaching Center Building at the Northeast corner of the intersection of Dean Keeton and Speedway. 

Our evening begins with society business (i.e.  event updates, member news and other points of note) and concludes with a presentation.  Presentations vary from talks given by noted experts in the field of science and astronomy to feature films.

Past presenters to the AAS include; Dr. Donald Olson of Texas State University, Richard Garriott - game designer and ISS visitor, Dr. Anita Cochran - assistant director of the McDonald Observatory, and Torvald Hessel - director of Friends of the Austin Planetarium.
