AAS – How to Join the Society

Becoming a member of the Austin Astronomical Society (AAS) is as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Decide which optional astronomy magazine subscription(s) you want, if any. Your choices are Sky & Telescope and Astronomy.

  2. Compute your total amount due. This amount will be $25.00 for regular Society membership dues (or $15.00 for household, junior, or senior membership dues) — prorated if applicable — plus the cost of your chosen magazine subscriptions, if any:

Note that dues and subscription fees are annual and are payable every year in September. However, if you initially join the Society in other months, your first-year dues may be prorated accordingly. The categories of membership and prorata dues structure are defined in the Bylaws of the Society.

  3. Send a check or money order (no cash please!) for the total amount due to:
    Austin Astronomical Society
    P.O. Box 12831
    Austin, Texas 78711-2831
    U.S.A.
Include your name, your surface mail address, your astronomy magazine subscription choice(s), if any, your telephone number (optional), and your electronic mail address (optional).

You can also pay the Society treasurer or another Society officer in person at any monthly meeting of the Society.

For more information about membership in the Society, such as profiles of current members, a list of our current officers, and the dues and benefits of Society membership, see our AAS Membership page.
