Member Services

There wouldn't be an Austin Astronomical Society without our members and it is for this reason that the Member Services Committee exists. We strive to bring our general assembly opportunities to socialize, interact and observe as a community. MEMBERS ONLY STAR PARTIES AT EAGLE EYE OBSERVATORY

Join members of the AAS monthly at Canyon of the Eagles for our Members Only Star Parties. These nights are scheduled on Saturdays closest to the new moon for optimum dark skies and are exclusively for AAS members. Come out with your binoculars and/or telescope to observe the night sky with fellow astronomers. DAM STAR PARTIES AT MANSFIELD DAM

Can't make it out to Canyon of the Eagles? Wish there was a closer in observing location? Look no further! Starting in 2013 AAS will be back at Lake Travis for our Dam Star Parties at Mansfield Dam. Join other fellow members for some close in urban observing and camaraderie. Calendar and more details to come.

It is our hope in the coming months to offer many more opportunities for members to participate and get together as a community. On the horizon are more Practical Astronomy talks, hands on workshops and happy hours. However, we cannot do this without your help. If you have an idea for a Member Services event or activity find us on the AAS Discussion Groups and let's talk.

2013 MEMBER SERVICES EVENT DATES

Member service events will be held the first Friday of the month (unless otherwise noted). On good weather/clear sky nights we will meet out at Mansfield Dam. Should the weather be inclement an alternative location will be provided for meeting up.
